New Resale Insights
You loved our posts last month on secondhand buying and selling, and we’re back with even more insights into resale as tariffs are boosting recommerce (U.S. secondhand is always tariff free). We’ve analyzed our internal data and trends across the wider secondhand and fashion market to bring you the best of what to sell right now, including a surfacing trend if you want to get a few last wears in before listing.
The Color Trend: Butter Yellow
By now you’ve seen butter yellow all over your social feeds and we’re here to confirm that this has staying power. Not only is this the color to buy and wear in 2025, it’s also the color to sell since it’s rapidly rising at resale.
Pastel yellow purchases have increased 42% YoY within the Future Reference community, and we’re not the only ones into this shade: Pinterest searches for yellow outfit inspo are up 225% as butter yellow is dominating the current fashion landscape.
Key Items To Sell
It’s the perfect time to sell butter yellow cardigans and maxi dresses, which have surged 300% in searches in the last three months on Google Trends. And don’t sit on listing butter yellow halter dresses and bags: these breakout search terms have experienced a tremendous increase of over 5,000% in the last 90 days.
Linen blazers and silk blouses are holding strong resale value within our internal data as more brands and consumers are turning towards natural fibers in place of synthetic fabrics.
“Butter yellow isn’t going anywhere in 2025. Not only are our users adding this color to their closets en masse - I’ve seen some especially excellent vintage Jil Sander - but I’m seeing it everywhere on the streets of New York and in my social feeds.”
The Aesthetic Trend: Moto Boho
Last week in our F|R Resale Tip1 series, we shared that fringe details and boho brands are trending at resale in a major way, thanks to Chloe’s recent runways and the return of festival season.

The even bigger news is that boho is getting edgier in 2025, coined as Moto Boho, combining the nostalgic trends of romantic ruffles and lace with leather and hardware. Pinterest reported that Moto Boho is already on the upswing, with searches for edgy boho outfits +40% and moto boots outfit +445% YoY.
Key Items To Sell
Biker boots are the pieces to sell this spring. According to Lyst, Ganni and Miu Miu are leading this trend, creating strong resale value in these brands and footwear with a similar aesthetic. Ganni’s biker boots are in sell down mode across retailers and Miu Miu’s boots sell for over $2.5K new, making the secondhand market even more compelling. Even better? Our data shows that Miu Miu’s average resale price has doubled in the last six months, and Ganni has increased 15% in the last month alone.
“Miu Miu is seeing the highest secondhand sales price growth in bags and accessories categories. If anyone bought the Instagram famous Miu Miu glasses and isn’t vibing with them, they’re a hot item for resale.”

Lace skirts will hold their resale value going into fall as searches for lace maxi skirts have grown +90% in the last three months on Google Trends.
“We saw lace skirts surface two years ago as Gen Z was pairing these back to oversized t-shirts. In 2025, the lace skirt has morphed into key two styling looks: a romantic boho expression and a more forward iteration with the rising sheer trend. Both of these aesthetics will give the lace skirt longevity at resale going into fall.”
The Emerging Trend: Peplums
Peplums are the stealth 2010s trend making a much more chic return in 2025. They’ve shed their business casual associations for a statement look that plays with volume and structure.
favorite wrote last May that cinched waists were on the rise as fashion steps away from the microtrend era in a move towards self-expression. Peplums tie into the broader shift to the cinched waist as silhouettes are becoming more defined after five years of oversized looks.Key Items To Sell
Peplums were hard to miss at AW25 Fashion Month, from shows to showgoer street style. The peplum was especially prevalent on Milan and Paris runways, featured in Alaïa, Bally, Chloé, Dior, Diesel, and Max Mara collections. If you’re ready to list your peplum (or maybe get a few more wears in before selling), expect the greatest interest from pieces with clean lines and dramatic shapes.
“We’ve noticed a surge in peplum purchases within
digital closets, and Ganni’s cotton poplin peplum tie blouse has been a huge hit with our users for years. This style is a key item in their collection that’s still running at full price - if you’re ready to part with your Ganni peplum blouse, now is the time to list.”
The Brands To Sell
First, some insider resale insights: trending brands and aesthetics push more inventory into the secondhand market. Which makes heightened consumer interest a double edged sword: increased inventory can pull the average resale price down, but items will sell more rapidly as more shoppers are focused on a trend.

We use real-time AI-driven sales data to help maximize your earnings so you don’t leave money behind.Looking at the last month across third-party marketplaces, our internal data points to a clear trend in three brands that have been strong performers at resale. The common factor: all three brands are boho-adjacent and ideal for the wedding season that’s upon us.
Cult Gaia is the first brand on our radar, with secondhand sales fueled by the dresses and bags that are part of their brand DNA. While their average sale price is down 25% (more inventory typically equals lower prices), the total amount sold is +85% in the last month. It’s the ideal time to get into the resale market.
Isabel Marant is the OG Parisian boho brand, and they’re having a key moment at resale with average sale prices up 43% to the prior month. Shoppers are snapping up tops and shoes in particular, showing the power of these categories for the brand.
Zimmerman is “another brand that’s moving right now with floral dresses (I know - groundbreaking) driving a majority of the sales” says our founder
. In the last three months inventory has almost doubled, but prices are down roughly 20% overall due to the increased supply. It’s a good moment to list because Zimmerman inventory is moving.Check out our valuation tool to see how much your Cult Gaia, Isabel Marant, and Zimmerman items are worth in a couple of clicks. From showers to the big day, I have seen some amazing bridal pieces popping up the last few weeks. I’d wear this Jonathan Simkhai dress for my bachelorette, this Andreadamo dress and Cult Gaia bag to my shower. This incredibly chic Brandon Maxwell gown ($1600!!) for the big day, and this classic Paco Rabanne palette dress to the after party to dance all night (I actually also wore Paco for my outfit change on my wedding day).
With all of the talk around boho, I’m into the idea of adding a slightly more romantic vibe to my wardrobe. This post by
sent me down the rabbit hole of finding a preloved boho piece, and this festival-ready Cynthia Rowley embroidered dress caught my eye. Reverting back to my minimalist ways, I’m always on the lookout for the loafer that’s “the one”. My heart skipped a beat when I saw these Chanel Turnlocks, but sadly (or maybe fortunately) they’re not in my size.
